Additional Requirements:

  • MATH courses:  As of Fall 2001, all education majors must take college level math courses.
  • A minimum QPA of 2.8 is required in all English courses.
  • Grades of A, B, or C must be earned in all English courses.
  • Media & Composition:  Students who begin their program as freshmen at ESU will be placed into a special section of ENGL 104: English Composition for Secondary English and Middle Level Education Majors.  This courses focuses on composition and media literacy.  To meet teacher guidelines, students who do not take ENGL 104 will be required to take CMST 126:  Introduction to Mass Media.
  • Portfolio:  All secondary education majors enrolled after fall 2006 are required to fulfill the secondary English portfolio.
