This course explores the theories, research and practice on language and literacy development for young children. Strategies to assess development in reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as experiences to enhance and nurture growth will be developed. Emphasis is given to meeting the individual needs of learners, providing success-oriented experiences, and instilling a positive self concept in the young child.
