International Students

Who is an International Applicant?

Applicants who are not United States citizens or permanent resident aliens must apply using the online international freshmen or transfer application. Students who have attended any post-secondary institution after high school graduation are considered transfer applicants.

When to Apply

Prospective international students can apply starting summer 2013 for the spring or fall 2014 semesters. Applications are only available online at www.esu.edu/apply.

Deadline for Applying

Spring 2014 Semester November 1, 2013
Fall 2014 Semester March 1, 2014

Application and Review Process

For an admission decision to be made the following must be submitted:

  • A completed online application
  • Application fee ($50) paid online
  • All official secondary and post-secondary academic records
  • Results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing system. Not required if English is the students native or primary language.
  • Summary of Educational Experiences form
  • Completed Financial Disclosure form with supporting documentation such as bank statements, tax documents, etc.
  • Sponsor’s Statement of Support
  • Completed Promise to Room and Board form if anyone will be providing room and board while the student is at ESU.

Notification of Admission

Applications are reviewed beginning in November for spring and mid-February for fall. Applicants should apply early so that information necessary for preparation of their visa can be secured and processed. Applicants can check their application status at www.esu.edu/appstatus.
