This course is designed to prepare students to effectively teach literacy. Topics emphasized include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and assessment. Weekly field experiences in Professional Development Schools emphasize the integration of course content and best practice. Required course for Elementary Education Majors.
